• Hi,

I have a website and most of the pages are the same as the homepage, side menu, banners at the top etc etc.

    www.thewargameswebsite.com HOME PAGE

However a few pages do not follow the same layout:

Where have I gone wrong please and how do I make all pages follow the same layout?

  • seems the ‘bad’ page is a forum page – how did you integrate the forum into your site?
    what plugin are you using?
    what theme are you using?

This could be because your sample “bad” page and whatever other pages are not following the layout are using a different code file that tells them a different layout than the homepage file. The file that is typically used for your homepage is front-page.php. Other pages use page.php. Take a look at the page templates by going to Appearance–>Editor. You will see a list of the files that your website uses from there. You can copy and paste the template for the Homepage into the file for your other pages, or check and see if they call for a sidebar, or whatever else you are missing from your pages. If that seems like too much, take a step back and here is an article about pages that may help break it down for you:

Hope this helps, best of luck!

I will check that link, thanks.

I have zero coding knowledge, so I found the file, but I am initially worried!

Also, what settings do you have set up as your front page? When “front page” is set in the front page displays section, it should use the page.php template file. If you have that set up, you should be getting the same template/layout on each page.
