Pages not loading

I had my website working – until I deleted all of the sidebar things – widgets (comments, posts and other things…) that I did not need. (as suggested by someone here – and it worked!).
But now my website is not working.
The menu tabs used to go to the right pages – but now it stays on the one page.
I made sure they were all linked properly. They used to come up. But after deleting the widgets – only the main page comes up.
I have tried everything and am spending a ton of time – but nothing seems to work.
I even went in and created a new page (just to test it) – and now I have even more problems.
I just went to “Edit” a page – and hit “preview changes” – and it brought up my Main Page – not the page that I was editing.
Every page that I go to – when I bring up preview = brings up the main page – not the page I am on.
Any ideas on what is going on?
Also –
Published Date/Time not changing. When I make a change to a page – and publish it – the date/time published does not change.Any help would be really appreciated.

do you have a backup of the database and files? (might need to restore your site to previous version)
the page information in the menu links looks unusual.
what actions did you take “to delete all of the sidebar things”?Troubleshooting Steps:
1-backup your files and database2-install health check plugin.
deactivate theme and plugins using health check plugin’s troubleshooting mode
