I have a habit of checking the live traffic, pages not found tab. There are pages reported as not found but that is incorrect. In some cases I am glad to see that, like when they try to reach

https://www.keptlight.com/wp-login.php (there are 3 of these)

I click on the link and arrive at the login page no problem. There are also regular pages reported as not found like

https://www.keptlight.com/about (there are two of these)

And then there is the MSN bot trying to reach a page like:

https://www.keptlight.com/pasha/function.is-readable (I get quite a few of these)

Why are these reported as not found? And in the case of MSN bot, although it is not Wordfence’s problem, why is it trying to test if a blog post is a readable folder?

These puzzle me more than worry or bother me. I am also reporting them in case they are the result of a bug in Wordfence.

Has anyone at Wordfence saw this post in the last two weeks?

*** OFF TOPIC BUT IMPORTANT ***

When I posted this question with broken links I did not realize that Google would actually index these posts and try to crawl my site for these links. Moral of the story: Do not write traceable URLs, break them with word counterparts, spaces, or otherwise make them non clickable. These posts are also on some RSS feed sites which are also feeding the bots. Like:
    http : / / ditted24 . rssing . com / chan-12949233/all_p112.html

If it is at all possible, could someone delete these threads that have example but non working links. If not, please heed the moral of the story I wrote above.

    Hi

Thanks for coming back to update and help others! Wordfence has the best community out there. Unfortunately I cannot delete any threads (tried to get someone before to help me move a post for us under the wordfence plugin forums and came up short there as well.)

I haven’t heard of twordfence reporting falsely like this before. Can you verify this is going on with the latest release?

    Thanks!

ps Also off topic, but I wanted to say I loved your site, especially the pics of Kirlangic, the “Hanging Doors Overhead” one being my favorite. Great work!

Hi Tim, first thank you for your kind words about my site and Kirlangic collection. Interesting place it was indeed.

The problem I mentioned as off topic was the forum link examples coming back to bite! It is mainly my own fault not knowing, or at least thinking about it. That’s why I added the link with a generous peppering of spaces to break the URL appearance.

    Thank you for writing back,

    Cemal

    Cernal,

    Thanks for sharing the pics!

But, I did want to ask if you were still having the problem you posted about originally.

Yes I am, but I also have a premium support ticket open. I cannot even automatically block the URL access, I have tons of accesses to destinations that are not even proper, or missing page report for links that seem to work (at least from my end).

    Ok

If the dev team is on it, I’ll step back. You are in very capable hands! ??

Thanks again for sharing the images (the ones with the eggs were cool too!)

Ah, what goes best with eggs? Salt and pepper!

How neat! But I might argue bacon goes best with eggs ??
