Pages lost (not restored)

  • I am using WPvivid Backup on my WordPress based Web site that I want to move to a different hosting provider. The export seems to work (no errors or other complaints in the log), but the import in my new WordPress installation only imports 19 out of 56 pages, i.e., 37 pages are lost. I tried setting the advanced settings as described on the support pages and re-installed my new WordPress installation several times. The topics are always lost. This issue is also not in the list of common issues linked in the sticky post in this forum.
    Interestingly, when I go to “Export & Import” in my old installation and “Choose post type” “Page”, I can see all 56 pages – so it seems WPvidid can see them. I am not sure whether they are not exported to begin with or just not imported. Since I have several hundred files and other settings that I cannot reliably check manually, I want to make sure that nothing else is lost.
    So my question would be: How can I find out why 37 pages are lost on export or import, and how can I see if anything else is missing? If this is a bug, where can I report it? Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for reporting the issue!

    Here are some possible causes of this issue and the solutions:

    1. Make sure that the source site and the target site have the same PHP environment or at least the PHP versions are not much different.

    2. Temporarily deactivate cache plugins and firewall plugins on the source site, then run migration again.

    3. In the plugin settings >> Advanced Settings >> Choose PDO as the Database access method >> Save changes and run migration again.

    If the problem persists, we’ll need to know your themes or plugins information to offer further suggestions. Because some themes or page builders (for example, Oxygen) have their own migration methods, once the migration is complete, their data need to be regenerated.

    Thanks for your reply.
    Regarding 1., the PHP versions are “not much different”, I would say. The source version is 7.3.14, the target version is 7.2.28-he.0 (Host Europe is the target provider, which is what I suppose the -he suffix stands for).
    Regarding 2., I am not using any cache or firewall plugins.
    Regarding 3., I changed this setting, but the result is the same, unfortunately.

    What themes or page builders do you use for the source site?

    Hi @tonyrobins,

    I am not aware of any page builders (I set up the installation myself some time ago and am only adding new pages and files, nothing fancy). The theme I use is Twenty Twelve version 3.1.
