• Many times pages on my blog, at least as seen from my PC, load forever. They usually appear correct, but the icon in the tab continues to spin, as if the page isn’t done. It most often stops on gg.google.com in the status bar, but not always. I have the plugin Inline Google Maps loaded, that’s why the call to google (I think) though it calls that on every page and I’ve only 3 maps in 40 posts and 43 pages.

I recently loaded Store-Locator, another mapping plugin with query capability and created a page to use it (unpublished). It seems to be set up OK, with my Google API Key registered and all, but when I try to Add Locations it almost always stops while connecting to gg.google.com with nothing visible on the page. This is the same with and without the other mapping plugin activated, in case they conflicted somehow.

I’ve left a message with the Store-Locator plugin author, but thought since this isn’t just a problem with his plugin that someone here might have some ideas.

    Davethepak,

It’s not general slowness that’s the issue, it’s the fact that the culprit always seems to be gg.google.com. Whether the page mostly loads and is usable or just stays blank, gg.google.com is almost always at the heart of the problem. I have no idea why or even what that site does.
