    Hi @wpbuffs

Could you please check if you’ve set a page title or SEO title for your homepage? Or when you edit the homepage, you’ve already added a breadcrumb title in the advanced section of the Yoast SEO meta box?

You can follow the steps here – https://yoast.com/help/optimizing-the-seo-title-and-meta-description-of-your-homepage/

We do know that if you’ve set your homepage title, that should populate the ‘name’ field from the breadcrumb schema output and fix the issue.

    Hey @mikes41720!

The SEO and breadcrumb titles are filled correctly including the other pages that were listed in the same Google Search Console error. Breadcrumb titles are filled without empty spaces too.

    Hi @wpbuffs

We apologize for not being able to get back to you sooner.

The screenshots you’ve sent in your last reply don’t seem to be loading on my end. Could you recheck and see if you’ve indeed set a breadcrumb title for your homepage?

We’re checking the page source right now and the breadcrumb listitem still appears to be blank and not populated.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

With a default WP theme such as TwentyTwenty and only the Yoast SEO plugin activated in troubleshooting mode, could you check if the breadcrumb listitem then appears as expected in the page source for the homepage?

    hey @mikes41720!

We created a staging site and tested troubleshooting there. The current theme activated is Twenty Twenty and the only plugin activated is Yoast. The htaccess of the staging site has also been reverted back to default. But the issue with the property name is still there.

If I’m not mistaken the breadcrumb title should be showing here:

Here’s the breadcrumb title correctly in place without empty spaces: https://prnt.sc/AiZri8SwCk-j

Hoping to hear from you ASAP! Thank you!

    Hi @wpbuffs

Thanks for trying to troubleshoot this further.

Upon checking your staging site, we do see that the homepage’s page source indeed still has a blank ‘name’ field for the breadcrumb list item.

Just to clarify, do you currently have the homepage set to a static page or is it set to latest posts?

Also, did you also already complete the SEO data optimization process under the WP admin dashboard > SEO > Tools section?

    Hey @mikes41720!

Thanks for getting back to us on this one.

We’ll have the team check and confirm if it is set to a static page or to latest posts.

We’ll get back to you soon.

    Hey @mikes41720!

I’m confirming here that we are using a static page with the breadcrumb title defined:https://prnt.sc/ewrvGfKfjpuZ

And yes we did run the SEO optimization in the staging site:https://prnt.sc/Wl1ZL4xaDdt3

Still, the name property is blank in the staging site.

Let us know if you have any questions! Thank you and stay safe! ??

    Hi @wpbuffs

This is definitely strange. With a default WP theme and only the Yoast SEO plugin, we definitely would expect that the breadcrumb schema would be outputting just fine, and you’ve already added a breadcrumb title.

Can you please try resetting our indexables in the database tables by following the steps below?
    1. Install & activate the?Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2. Go to Tools > Yoast Test
    3. Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations’, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation’, and ‘Reset Internal link counter’ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that each reset was successful. Note: Resetting the optimization doesn’t undo any of the hard work you’ve put into the plugin as the SEO data is also stored in WordPress’ default tables. It’ll just reset the custom Yoast tables that contain the combined data pulled from those default tables.
    4. Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your?content.

Could you check if this fixes the issue? If not, then we can’t seem to replicate the issue on our end as it seems to work on our default setup. It may be something specific to your setup, so we’d then advise to create a bug report – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/
