Pages (from Dashboard) and Pages (Appearance –> Edit –> Pages)
-
Sorry to ask here, but searches on the web have not been fruitful.
A change seems to have happened in WordPress (due to recent update?).
In the past the Pages created in Appearance –> Edit –> Pages showed up in the list on the Dashboard –> Pages list.
This now has disappeared.
Another difference is that the interface of Appearance –> Edit –> Pages has changed. The first level menu is now status of pages (such as Published / Scheduled / Drafts etc).
There is now also an annoying new panel between the menu items on the left panel and the display of a page. That just gobbles up screen estate, and cannot be switched off – or can it? (I can;t find where). The previous display was much better.
My problem: A Page created in Dashboard –> Pages is fine when accessed from there.
When I open that same page from the list in Appearance –> Edit –> Pages, it shows a template part error, and does not display the content of that template part there.
How is that possible? – same file (a static page) showing different content from 2 different access points.
That means in effect that WP interprets the same instance in two different ways. Or what’s happening here?
