pages don’t work…major issue

  • I’m using Cutline theme 1.4. This is a very odd problem I’m having. Going to my URL https://www.theloudestsound.com works fine and you can click on a link or blog entry once but if you try and click it again you get a “Page Not Found” even though you were just there. I’ve tried it on mobile devices, PC’s and Macs, all the same. This is obviously a major issue. Any help would be great. Thank you.

  • See if visiting Settings->Permalinks and clicking on the update button fixes the problem.

    I don’t see an “Update” button there…only that I can change the URL structure.

    Well that did sort of work. Now the only page doing it of 3 is the homepage. In other words clicking of “Front Page” after having already been there produces a 404 Error. Any ideas how to clear that page up now that the others seem to be working?

    Ok,
    wordpress built in 301 redirect doesnt always do the trick with some themes.

    Here is a the solution I use.
    install plugin seo ultimate
    install plugin redirection

    take the boken links and enter them in redirection
    use seo to tarck and notify you of any 404 errors so you can redirect them faster

    I tried this but the problem still persists even with “redirect”. Only for the Front Page link though.

    In my experience 404 errors are usually caused when setting a permalink option without updating your .htaccess file. If you have done this, set your permalinks option back to default and everything should be just fine. Unless your want a pretty url, in which case simply enter the rewrite code WP provides you after selecting a permalink option.
