None of my pages show up in my menu. The checkbox for “Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu” is checked and all my pages are set to public. I’ve spent hours trying to fix this.

Have you set a menu location?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-wordpress-menu-builder/#setting-a-theme-location

I think that “automatic” feature only works when new pages are published, I don’t believe it will automatically add existing pages.

    Let me know ??

Yes, I did set a menu location and I’ve tried clearing my cache.

When I go to Appearance -> Menu, no pages are listed under Add Menu items. I’m a new WordPress user so I thought maybe I needed to make some changes under the theme customization with live preview. I added the pages and now they appear on my homepage. My concern is that the links won’t work since the pages don’t appear in both places. If this explanation doesn’t make sense, hopefully these screenshots will help.

I’m not sure I understand – are both of those screenshots current? So the Customizer is showing pages and the “Appearance > Menus” area isn’t showing any?

Both of these screenshots are current. The Customizer is showing pages and the Appearance > Menus areas is not showing any pages.

Strange, so core WordPress functionality is breaking. Can you try deactivating all of your other plugins to check for conflicts? One of them might be breaking it.

If not, do you have any custom functions on the site? In your child theme maybe?

I deactivated each plugin and checked the menu before deactivating the next one. After deactivating every plugin, the pages still do not appear under the Appearance > Menus area. Here’s a list of all the plugins I’m using:

    All in One WP Security
    Bluehost
    Caldera Forms
    Classic Editor
    Elementor
    Elementor Pro
Google Analytics for WP by MonsterInsights
    GP Premium
    Lightweight Social Icons
    UpdraftPlus
    Yoast SEO

What do you mean by custom functions? I’m a novice when it comes to HTML and CSS so I haven’t made any changes in the Theme Editor. I did use the Custom CSS function in Elementor Pro but only for a few elements. All the coding I did do was style related – line spacing, font weight, etc.

Does the issue continue to happen if you switch to one of the default Twenty-x themes?

Are you using a child theme?

    (@jligon10)

Yes, the issue continues if I switch to one of the default themes. I’m not using a child theme. Thanks for all your help. I’m guessing that it may be time for me to hire someone to fix my website.

No problem – it sounds like something corrupt with your installation. You can try re-installing the WordPress files in “Dashboard > Updates”, but this might be database related.

Then menu worked properly once my website went live.
