Pages do not change when clicked on with recommended plugin active

Running wordpress 4.4.2. I have the latest version of the theme and the wordpress rest api plugin as recommended. With it active though, when you are on the homepage and you click on a recent post, it doesn’t go to that new post. If I deactivate that plugin, then everything works just fine. There is also no animations like there are on the demo site. https://demo.quemalabs.com/caos-pro/
