Page's content replaced by Image

  • Hi everybody,

    I seem to be having a weird problem with the visual editor and my Page drafts. Occasionally, when I add an image from the pop-up media library, it will simply refuse to work. However, other times it will stall or freeze, and that’s when the trouble starts. The first time this happened, I saved the page’s draft and reloaded it, only to find that instead of inserting an image into a table, the image had replaced the page. When it happened again today, I shut down the browser, figuring that the last time I saved the draft was better than having it all replaced. Of course, it happened anyway.

    My boss is starting to get really peeved that I can’t manage to update our website, but I’m getting pissed that WP keeps shutting me out! Any ideas as to what the problem is?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
