• A few weeks back, we noticed that a few pages on our blog account had gone missing. When we went on the blog (externally, as an outsider user would) and clicked on the link we got a page that says:

    “WHOOPS!
    THAT PAGE CAN’T BE FOUND.
It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try another search?”

We would login into our blog through WordPress and search for the title of the page with the Omnisearch tool. It would yield no results, not allowing us to delete the posts. So now we have about 80 dead pages on our blog. How can we remove these pages?

  • To delete those pages get into WordPress Dashboard>Posts>All Posts then “tick” the pages you need to remove. Then select Bulk Action and select “Move to Trash” from the dropdown.

No, the problem is that those posts aren’t showing up in All Posts at all. Both when I Omnisearch and when I navigate to month that they should be in, they’re missing.

Where these posts or pages are actually showing? On archive page or navigation?

If you can put screenshot or link to that it would be better to understand.

These posts/pages are showing up on the fully published blog online. So go to the following link and try to click the two Hulkamania posts and you’ll see what I mean.

When searching on WordPress, the link to only the first post shows up, not the dead link.

Any ideas? I can add screenshots, if that helps.

Are you using a caching plugin? Your site is fast enough that it seems like. You might need to delete the cached pages.

I just checked our plug-ins – there is not a caching one.
