I only have the front page About showing. The rest of my posts and pages will not show. Archives says this page is not available. I can see my posts listed behind in the dashboard, but they do not show up on the blog.

  • In Administration > Options > Reading set the Front page displays to “Your lastest posts” then update your permalinks (Administration > Options > Permalinks).

Can I just ask another question in relation to this fix – is setting the page to static an effective way to keep the rest of the blog private, and then when you want to make it public, you just apply the fix you suggested above? I actually would like to keep the blog private, as I am creating it for my lecturer as an assignment.

If you are truly interested in keeping your blog private, you could password protect those posts that you want to be kept private.

You could have a static page being displayed in the front of the website, and you could give your lecturer a link to your blog, with password protected posts.

Alternatively, you could make the entries private and/or restricted to just some users and request your lecturer to sign in.

Thanks for that – how do you make the entries private and/or restricted to just some users and request a log in? Is that by use of a plug in or do can I do that in the dashboard?

Every time you write a page or a post, that option is available to you.

This screenshot will probably explain it better.
