• I’ve been through hell and back again, but finally my wordpress blog is up and running. In the course of getting it started, I had to export and import from 2.9.1 to 2.9.1 a few times (more than I would’ve liked to). I just noticed that on my about page, my permalink is listed as “domain.com/about-2” I even copied the contents of that page, and sent the page to the trash, and re-created the page, and now it’s “domain.com/about-3”!! I don’t have any other pages titled “about” how do I reset the permalink? When I imported, I didn’t delete everything first, I basically exported .xml from install A, and imported to fresh-install B. What gives? Thanks for any help!

  • Maybe it was stil in your wp-post-meta table.
I ususally empty (the content) of both wp-post and wp-post-meta before importing to avoid this (and having double posts because of an update in a post).

i’m having the same issue. When I import.
my original permanlink gets added parent title.

    for example,

original page before import title = “1”
    parent title =” something”

after the import, my “original page” permalink becomes “something-1”

this is not good… why parent title gets embedded?

    thanks
