• I just copied across my entire local wp-content folder via filezilla to my site hosted by Azure. While I can see the custom theme I created locally, all my pages and media are not showing up on the /wp-admin page. They are there according to filezilla though.

I’ve been digging around looking for solutions with little success.

    What am I doing wrong?

  • Did you change URLs to match your online domain name and import MySQL database using your server’s phpMyAdmin?

So I couldnt figure out how to import the database via azures PHP. There’s a whole thing about using Azure PHP scaffold, but it wasnt working for me.

I resorted to just using the wordpress export to xml and import plugin on the live site. That fixed my pages issue, but said it failed to import the media.

That’s due to all the img links pointing to my local file structure.

Is there an easy way to fix that?

I should also mention that the media library is empty, but it can read from /uploads just fine

That’s due to all the img links pointing to my local file structure.

This explains why the media library is empty. What I do usually is replace all UTLs in the database with a search and replace function and then import using the server’s phpMyAdmin.

BTW, do you have access to your site’s phpMyAdmin?

That sounds exactly what i need.

Unfortunately there is no phpMyAdmin that I can find access to via Azure.
I can access phpMyAdmin locally though, could I run that UTL function there before I upload it to the live site?

Who hosts your site? They can help you locate your phpMyAdmin – you need it quite often for various reasons.

You may change URLs in your local environment and export the database too.

Microsoft Azure is my host. I’ll get in touch with them. Thanks
