Pages also showing up as posts

The pages are appearing in archives and other places too.

How do I set them to appear only under the heading ‘Pages’ and nowhere else?

Please help.

(I just installed the ‘Devenir En Gris’ theme, and I am tweaking it to my style)

For your specific question about pages being included, this code:

should probably be

if ( $recentposts = $wpdb->get_results("SELECT ID, post_title FROM $wpdb->posts WHERE post_status = 'publish' AND post_type = 'post' AND post_date_gmt < '$today' ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 5")):

I am not a techie, just a blogger with minimum knowledge.

If you can , can you please furthur help me with:-

1) The post titles in the theme are not clickable and do not lead to the single post. I mean they are not linked to the permalink of the post, instead the permalink to the individual posts is located below the title beside ‘posted by ‘author’ at xyz time’.
How do I make the title clickable so that it directs to the permalink and leads to the single post?

2) Also the theme is not widget aware. I followed this steps https://www.quickonlinetips.com/archives/2007/11/how-to-widget-enable-wordpress-themes-in-3-easy-steps/ and it did widgetize the blog, but it changed the whole appearance of the blog and deformed everything else.
Can you help me regarding this?

I love this theme because of its monochromatic feel, small fonts at sidebar. Its incredibly professional and clean.
I REALLY wish someone would upgrade this theme. I am sure there are so many people out there who will appreciate it.

I am even willing to pay a small amount to anyone who has experience in these regards and is willing to work for me personally and upgrade the theme according to my likes.

1. Look at how the WordPress Default Theme, in wp-content/themes/default/index.php does that.
