• Hi guys,

I thought i’d post this question here as it’s more to do with installation.

I have been following a friends guide on how to set up a new wordpress on your own server (crazydomains in my case), and am seeming to be missing a step…

So basically, the steps i followed are:

    1. Create new folder on server (www.alexmosesmultimedia.com/wp2/)

    2. Install wordpress using quicklink, checking approriate settings…

    3. Rename the theme folder (In my case, ‘Twenty Thirteen’ to ‘drythy’)

    4. Find the style.css and edit line 1, changing Theme Name to drythy

    5. Activate the theme ‘drythy’ in wordpress backend.

    6. Duplicate page.php to page-home.php

    7. open up page-home.php, can add ‘Template name: Home Page’ among the comments in the top

That’s meant to be it, i should now apparently be able to edit the page-home.php and it will affect my site directly, but nothing happens.

I can delete all the code in the page-home.php, hit refresh and the site is fine..

    Any idea what i’ve missed?

    Thanks for any advice/suggestions :]
