Platform Pro is quite an advanced framework with a lot of in-built customization options. If your new to theme design and don’t know much about code (WordPress functions, php, css etc), or don’t want to learn, and just want to create a site quickly and easily the theme could be a good option.

However if your familiar with WordPress and know how to code and want to get into the nitty gritty of a theme to customize it, it might not be the best choice.

Other alternative theme frameworks include: Genesis from StudioPress, Thesis from DIY Themes, Headways themes, WP- DaVinci from Solostream etc

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for the info. I will check into the other themes as you suggested. I don’t know coding, and a platform like page line seems promising to me.

I have been looking at the PageLines platform Pro for a while now. Like premiumwp said it seemed like an advanced framework. But there is however part that, oh well, sucks big times.

When they started promoting their product they said that Platform is great for developers who know how to code and just want to jump in at adding more advanced features. They are selling Developer pro license for $250 plus $20 bucks a month.

Now, as developer, it does not seem that you can develop anything. You can extend css or make child theme but you can not dive into the framework. Well, that just suck.

So at the end, you will end up paying for some product that will eventually screw you at some point. Their politics really made me mad. Platform looks nice, but there is just not enough what you can do with it.

Specially NOT for that price since there is no way for you to sell your theme work.

I will have a developer do my site. At the mean time I managed to use Pageline’s free platform to come up with a temporary site. I did it on my own which gave me some experience with wordpress in general.
