Paged Comments AND Threading? A possibility?

  • My site gets lots of comments – several hundred per post on average, plus weekly product giveaways that get several thousand. I’ve been using the “Paged Comments” plug-in for a couple of years to manage the load.

    Now I want to add threaded comment functionality. I know WordPress has both threading and paging comments built in, but my multi-thousand comment posts seem to be too much for it to handle and the comments and comment form simply don’t load at all on those posts.

    Any other plug-in suggestions would be much appreciated, or anyone who knows how to hack the “Paged Comments” plug-in to accept nesting would be ideal.
