  • I was wondering actually how is going to be affected the responsive solutions.
In theory, if you add an image trough PB widgets images, it should bypass default WP images, and then rely on responsive settings plugin based. Makes sense ?

If that so, it shouldn’t be there conflicts hopefully.

PB doesn’t seem to support the native responsive image functions of WP 4.4 yet. I just tested this on my page and as soon as I’m using page builder, the images don’t have srcset attributes attached to them.

I hope responsive image support will come soon to page builder.

PS: it doesn’t seem to make a difference whether using the image in the SiteOrigin Editor (via Add Media) or using the SiteOrigin Image. Neither one is responsive.

To tell it all, I didn’t get yet how it’s intended to be responsive at times, or managed.

All i know is, that to have a fully responsive site, you need a responsive theme. I personally never had this kind of problem, because all the themes i’m using are responsive.

PB, should work like WP touch i believe, and making all the content included in their containers responsive. As far as i can remember, you could try to install for test, WP 2011 default theme, which is not fully responsive.

In this way you can see if WP or PB is compensating or not the lack of responsive design.

@andreadelriva handling images responsively is a different thing and a bit more tricky than having a responsive layout (e.g. from a responsive theme). one has to account for different image sizes and screen orientations for each image (or type of image) and serve them accordingly to the client. This can be accomplished via the srcset and sizes attributes of the img element or the picture element (both of which are HTML5 I think). Via the latter you can include so called “art directions” which means, that you serve completely different images for different devices (or orientations), not just different sizes.

Having a responsive theme doesn’t necessarily mean that images are responsive as well.

Ok, I guess i’m about to learn something new eheheh.

Then, i assume you have a Photoblog or site ?
