Page would scroll down to bottom after editing

    When I was editing my website on the wordpress backstage page, every time when I did any changes, like adding a single media block or change the text, the webpage would scroll down to the bottom, which is very annoying. Wondering how can I fix this bug?

    Having the exact same problem on 3 sites that I manage – all updated to 4.9.1.

    Not sure if it started at 4.9 though.

    First try fixing <div> related error and see if that fixes the issue.

    If not, try switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue.

    Side note to @axescuseme,

    please do not jump into other topics. If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. That way you stand a good chance of getting the assistance you want. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Thus one problem, on one setup is not indicative of the functionality and reliability of an application as a whole.

    Thank you t-p. Can you somehow try to explain the error a little bit for me? I’m new to WP and could not really understand what does the error mean. Appreciated!

    I do apologize, had no idea – wont happen again.

    Further, I may have found a solution my side. I noticed that the problem I was having was occurring while using Chrome. Tried Firefox and Edge and was able to edit on the backend without any ‘scroll-to-bottom’ issue. Unsure if this will resolve it for you @victor910913 but it did work for me.

    Hi Guys,

    I have exactly the same issues. At first I thought it was the new theme I was using that had a problem, but working on another WordPress, page would scroll down after any changes with visual composer as well. Both websites are updated to the latest WordPress version, using Chrome.

    However, made a test with Firefox and the issue did not reproduce. Let me know if you want me to record my screen showing this issue !

    I found an easy solution to this problem just click on screen options at the top of the page and
    untick
    “Enable full-height editor and distraction-free functionality”. under Additional settings.

    So you won’t have to shift from chrome.
