Page Won't Publish Under Parent Page

Immediately after installing the 4.2.2 update, I tried to add a page under a parent page. I even assigned it a number to make sure it would be in the right order. But when I published it, it does not display in the dropdown of the parent page. The only way to look at it is if I click the “View Page” icon while editing it. Of course, my readers will never be able to access the page this way.

When I publish the page without a parent, it shows up. I tried doing it this way and then assigning a parent afterwards, but even then it just remains as its own stand alone page.

My website is undeadgoathead.com. I want to add a page called “About Undead Goathead” with “About” as a parent. The child page would be a brief blurb about my website, while the parent “About” would have the same blurb and the author bios in one place.
