Hi

Google shows Page with redirect for below pages –

https://popmedley dot com/?p=2388
https://popmedley dot com/?p=2297

Kindly help, why are these pages getting warnings in the search console of redirection it supposed to be personal pages, and it did not even publish with this slug

This slug is built on when we see a preview of the page, not the final URL that we make to publish

There are more pages like this in search console warning — and its pretty uknown how come these pages come in google crawl list

Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin. For both URLs, I can confirm 301 redirects:
- https://popmedley.com/?p=2388 to 301: Permanent redirect to https://popmedley.com/top-beastie-boys-tracks/
- https://popmedley.com/?p=2297 to 301: Permanent redirect to https://popmedley.com/top-jay-z-tracks/
The Yoast SEO plugin isn’t responsible for these redirects but WordPress itself. These are redirects based on your permalink structure, from plain to post name.

The pages may have been crawled if you had your permalink structure set to plain but recently changed to post name. Not to worry, they won’t be indexed; instead, the proper URL will be indexed.

Is there nothing to worry about with these redirections? Coz in search cansole its many!

Like I said previously, our plugin is not responsible for the redirects. According to Google, a page with redirect means this is a non-canonical URL that redirects to another page. As such, this URL will not be indexed. The target URL of the redirect might or might not be indexed, depending on what Google thinks about that target URL.

Hi @kanojia

It shouldn’t be an issue if it correctly 301 redirects to the correct page. Again, once Google is able to determine that there is a redirect (this is due to WordPress plain permalink structure), that version /?p=2297, won’t be indexed and won’t show up in the search results. It will just report that in Google Search Console, but it’s not necessarily a cause for concern.
