• Is there a preferred method (plugin, I assume) for counting page views and or visitors. Or does everyone use GOOG analytics?

  • Goog is good

    There are a bazillion stats plugins… just search the plugin repo and pick one

    I use statpress seo There are a few statpress forks, I also like wordpress.com stats

    which is the best plugin for site stats

    its easy on one of my site which is at example.wordpress.com linked to my domain it has a site stats option in dashboard

    while other one is on self hosted wordpress with no site stats

    which is the best method or plugin for accurate stats

    well, there is a plugin called wordpress.com stats, which may be very familiar to you.

    I can’t answer ‘which is best’…. what do you want?

    I really like the ones I listed, so they are the best to me…..

    @just want a simple one that we have in wordpress hosted blogs which gives daily,weekly,monthly post and page views

    search engine terms

    referring links

    Is this the one?

    Yes…. the wordpress.com stats plugin I posted would be quite similar to the wordpress.com stats…….

    wordpress.com = wordpress hosted

    @rev. Voodoo

    yup this one is fine I am addicted to dz1 thanks so much

    @rev. Voodoo

    this one is asking for an API i have an account on wordpress.com should i use the same API or would it be different for all my domains hosted on wordpress if i install this plugin on all my domains

    I haven’t used it in a bit…

    I believe you can put in the same API, and then it will tell you that API is in use and ask what you want to do.

    You would want to ADD your site, not take over the other blogs stats or replace (unless you are killing the other site and do want to transfer stats)

    But most liely you want to ADD

    yup its saying Enter your WordPress.com API key to link this blog to your WordPress.com account. Be sure to use your own API key! Using any other key will lock you out of your stats

    nono its a different site

    few years back i started myblog.wordpress.com then i linked that blog to a domain

    now i have another domain with hosting and adding this plugin to new domain and its asking to login or signup to a wordpress.com account so i must use the same api key for all my domains hosting wordpress for this plugin

    creating different accounts for different self hosted domains wont make any sense untill they ask to do so and I dont thing they gonna do that

    will go this way as if now thank you so much

    confusing
