Page Titles Not Showing

I can confirm what’s in the page source matches what you have described above, though different from the search results:

Have you added your site to Google Search Console? Then, you should request indexing so Google can update their index since you recently updated the title.

XML Sitemap
Please share some of the URLs in the sitemap that are not indexed.

Thanks for the response. I have added it to search console, as well as the sitemap. Here are a couple pages that are not showing up:

These are on the sitemap, which I uploaded to the search console. So I am unsure what to do to get it indexed.

https://alhcontracting.com/denver-bathroom-remodels/ is now showing search results. See screenshot. But https://alhcontracting.com/services/denver-new-deck/ is not showing up yet. It appears in the sitemap and has no noindex tag. I noticed your robots.txt file doesn’t follow our best practice.

Once you have fixed the robots.txt file, request indexing for the URL and share any errors/notifications about it from Google Search Console.

Ok thanks for letting me know! I updated the robots.txt file to follow the best practices. I will submit the pages to the search console. Is there a way to see if any other pages are noindex? Also, how did that page become noindex? I want to avoid this in the future. Thanks

I meant that when I checked https://alhcontracting.com/services/denver-new-deck/, I didn’t find a noindex tag that could prevent indexing. Your robots.txt is still not following our recommendations because I see:
User-agent: *
Crawl-Delay: 20

Google Search Console will report if there are pages with a noindex tag.

Please see the attached image. I have updated the Robots.txt file so it should not still have the old information. How do I make the updates live?

We’re checking your robots.txt file again and it seems to have the updated directives now.

If you haven’t already, we suggest submitting your sitemap to Google Search Console. Once they have scanned and parsed your sitemap for the URLs, they should be able to provide an index coverage report of the submitted URLs and provide a status for the submitted URLs and see if they are included in the search results or have been excluded for a particular reason.

That’s great! One more question. Do you know why the Page Titles are not showing in the SERPs? Only a handful of the pages have the correct Page Title. Thanks

With the Yoast SEO plugin, you can define the SEO title, which will output in the <title> tag for your posts and page and let Google and the other search engines know what your preferred title is. However, it’s not always a guarantee that Google will use that title to output in the actual search results.

There are several reasons why this occurs, such as incorrect source code, cache, search term manipulation, or Google simply deciding to ignore your preferred title.
