• Hi,

    I plan to use wordpress as both a CMS and a blog. I’d like a list of articles as ‘wordpress pages’ down the side, and then use ‘wordpress posts’ for the blog.

    Currenttly, when I create pages they are listed together. I need them to be split into sections. It is not important for them to be associated with a category. It matters neither way.

    I am flexile on the exact layout, but things must be split similar to below:

    Topic 1
    ===========
    Page Title 1
    Page Title 2
    Page Title 3
    Page Title 4

    Topic 2
    ===========
    Page Title 1
    Page Title 2
    Page Title 3
    Page Title 4

    Topic 3
    ===========
    Page Title 1
    Page Title 2
    Page Title 3
    Page Title 4

    Is there any way to do this? Any plugin? Any setting or otherwise that I am overlooking?

    many thanks,
    Mike

    No, only the “Game Basics” have give birth ??

    That’s why then – put children in all of them and the errors should go away.

    Oh I see… sorry I misunderstood.

    There are children under those pages, they just aren’t being displayed on the front page.

    I’ve got at least one child per parent page.

    Just to further clarify, no matter which parent page I put at the top, only the top one is displayed.

    It’s as if wordpress doesn’t like the command being repeated???

    Ah – yup. That’s exactly it. There’s a bug (it’s been fixed for 1.5.1). You can join the 1.5.1 testers list to download the latest development-in-process release of 1.5.1-alpha, or, if you’re pretty comfortable with PHP, you can find the necessary changes to the code by looking in https://mosquito.www.remarpro.com for the right bug and fix.

    This is bound to be staring me in the face… but where can I find 1.51 aplha?

    I’ve looked round the site, it says check the deb blog for beta information… but I can’t see any.

    I’ve joined the dev mailing list, and have the url for the nightly builds… but wouldn’t 1.51 aplha be more stable? Where can I find it?

    thanks

    I think it would be a nightly, 1.5.1 isn’t out yet. Check the dev blog tab at the top of the page?

    1.5.1 nightlies are the alpha version.

    EDIT: Or I should say, they are at the moment. Nightlies are just the most recent in-development-version of WordPress. Right now, WordPress is in 1.5.1-alpha. At some point, WordPress will be in 1.5.1-beta phase, and the nightlies will be the beta version. After 1.5.1 gets released, the nightlies will be 1.6-alpha (or whatever).

    There is no one 1.5.1-alpha. The alpha version keeps evolving everyday. So in that sense, the development version in unstable (ever-changing).
