page title wont unhide

I’m developing a site with vellum theme – and several of my pages have somehow got a hidden title. Whenever I uncheck the hide title box, it rechecks upon update. I haven’t written any code for this, and the only page the has purposely hidden title is the home page. All of the pages are using the same default. I tried recreating a page, and the problem was there too.
