    Hi,

I have a page using a custom page template and I can see the content from that template when I view the page as a single page. However, when I use Theme Options to link the pages into one single page the page template is ignored and the content cannot be seen. The source code of the page confirms the template is not being used.

I am guessing that this is to do with the template hierarchy with the single page losing it’s identity once it is linked with others.

Can somebody confirm this is the case before I embark on a coded alternative?

Apologies if this has already been answered, I had a search but without success.

    Thanks

  • If you are using a static page as your front page, 2017 will not use templates. Learned this the hard way. At some point I was able to work around this but it wasn’t worth the trouble. Eventually, I had to drop 2017 altogether. BTW, this was my experience. Maybe someone can enlighten us both.

Thanks mrcangrejero, I learnt the hard way too. I couldn’t understand why the template was not being used when it was showing as selected in the admin panel. But the more I followed the code through the more it became obvious that the template wasn’t being called. It would be good if the drop down list for selecting templates was hidden when the pages are linked into a single page.
