I use the Seriously Simple Podcast plugin as a player and podcast ‘episode’ page creator for my site. The episode pages appear to stop loading whenever I modify anything on the site. I’ve disabled most of my plugins in a vane hope that this would alleviate the issue, but it doesn’t seem to work (404 errors). Page is still searchable on the site, but can’t be loaded. The only thing I can do is to go into my permalinks page and hit ‘save’ for the setting I have. After I do that EACH TIME I log in, it seems to work. What is going on here and how do I come up with a more long-term solution? I’m sure there’s a simple solution to this and I won’t profess to being a wordpress ninja. Just an average joe trying to make things work. Thank you!

    Hi @lpnhopsnstars,

It seems like there’s a code conflict (or malware) that’s consistently rewriting your permalink rules whenever you make any changes. You’ve taken the right steps in trying to pinpoint the issue by deactivating other plugins.

Here are a few areas to investigate further:

    1. Plugins: Temporarily deactivate ALL plugins except Seriously Simple Podcasting to see if the issue persists.
    2. Themes: Switch to a different theme temporarily to check if the problem is theme-related.
    3. Server Settings: Consider testing a copy of your site with a different hosting provider to see if the problem persists. You might want to try a hosting provider that offers a free trial or inexpensive hosting for testing purposes.

This way you can narrow down the issue.

    Hope this helps,
    Serhiy.
