    Hi there,

The width and height attributes should be with the image/slide – there might be a separate issue that is modifying or removing them.

Could you provide a link to the effected sites?

    Thanks,
    Dave

thepartyonline.com is one of 3 sites that I use it on. I have tried to put the image sizes in my CSS but that does not work either.

    Hi bogointeractive,

    Thanks for the link.

I checked the slider and the images do have the width and height attributes:

Could you provide the output from the google report so we can check which images it’s referring to?

    Thanks,
    Dave

Link Here is results of what I am talking about. as you can see it is showing the one slide that was on the page at the time of scan. It does not have image attributes.

    https://i1.wp.com/imgs.thepartyonline.com/breed1.png?resize=620%2C298 (Dimensions: 620 x 298)

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the additional info.

The ‘?resize’ parameter is probably being added by Jetpack’s ‘Photon’ feature – could you confirm you’re using this and if so disable and re-run the test?

    Thanks,
    Dave

I am not using Photon so this is the results without it running.

I just ran an audit via Chrome and saw this result:

    Specify image dimensions (2)
A width and height should be specified for all images in order to speed up page display. The following image(s) are missing a width and/or height:
    data:image/gif;base…
    g.gif

So only two images both which are not related to Meta Slider.

Could it be that you are running the test on a cached page?

How are you running the test?

    Thanks,
    Dave

What did you test on? I have tested it on many services out there and all say the same thing. Let me see your results. I am looking at all the pages I have run the test on. Here are the links.

    GTMetrix

I ran an audit via Chrome (previously page speed) for the page with the slider rather than the site as a whole. Looking at the results you’ve linked to it appears that it analyses all of the indexed image/links/resources for the site.

Importantly though, Meta Slider isn’t using the URL you mentioned in a previous test i.e. https://i1.wp.com/imgs.thepartyonline.com/breed1.png?resize=620%2C298

Although the same image is displayed in the slider it’s URL is: https://imgs.thepartyonline.com/breed1.png and if you look at the HTML it does have width and height attributes as mentioned before.

So although you have some images without height and width attributes it’s not relating to Meta Slider.

    Thanks,
    Dave

GTMetrix Not so fast. Look here it has the issues still. No photon no nothing.

    Hi bogointeractive,

Meta Slider isn’t using any of those images/files listed as the images in Meta Slider do have width and height attributes:
    https://www.screencast.com/t/WlXQh7DwxBIO

I’m afraid the issue isn’t with Meta Slider.

    Thanks,

That is an old version of the site. it shows that we are using Photon which we are simply not using. Also Meta Slider is what we are using because if you know that it has many versions of different sliders contained in one. So yes it is a problem. See here it is all your issues. It is simply not setting the things like I have said over and over.

    <div style="max-width: 625px; margin: 0 auto;" class="metaslider metaslider-nivo metaslider-3331 ml-slider"><div id="metaslider_container_3331"><div class='slider-wrapper theme-default'><div class='ribbon'></div><div id='metaslider_3331' class='nivoSlider'> <a href="listen-live" target="_self"><img src="https://imgs.asylum.rocks/listenlive.png" height="300" width="625" data-title="LISTEN LIVE 24/7" title="LISTEN LIVE" alt="LISTEN LIVE" class="slider-3331 slide-5118" /></a> <a href="id10t-fan-club" target="_self"><img src="https://imgs.asylum.rocks/breed.png" height="300" width="625" data-title="ID10T FAN CLUB" title="ID10T FAN CLUB" alt="ID10T FAN CLUB" class="slider-3331 slide-5120" /></a> <a href="hot-roxs" target="_self"><img src="https://imgs.asylum.rocks/hotroxs.png" height="300" width="625" data-title="TODAY'S HOT ROXS" title="TODAY'S HOT ROXS" alt="TODAY'S HOT ROXS" class="slider-3331 slide-5121" /></a></div></div></div>

may show up in the source file. However when you look at the tests, link shows it on every single site I use this on. link shows it here too. So really the HTML is setting the H and W but for some reason it is not showing correctly for those tests to accept it correctly.
