Hi,

Regular user of your plugin! Normally it works fine, and I get in the 75% range in GoogleSpeed tests and get a B/C report in GtMetrix. Until today. Now I’m getting much lower speed reports in Google (in the 30’s) and C/C or C/D in GTMetrix. And the biggest red flags on my reports are in image optimization (getting F’s in GTM).

All the images they list are ones that have been reduced with WP Smush.

I’ve included the report urls below:

Any idea why this is suddenly happening? I. Temporary bug? I also re-smushed everything and updated your plugin to the current version today and even after doing that, and flushing my W3 cache (repeatedly) nothing seems to help.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I ran re-test, and the results I got are:

Pagespeed: 73/75

As per the Pagespeed recommendation, I tried optimising few of the images from home page of your site, in one of my installations.

And I was able to save nearly similar amount of bytes as recommended by google.

So probably either those images were skipped somehow while smushing on your setup.

and see if they are optimised in your media library.

Hi Umesh, thanks for getting back to me. I’m not sure how to fix those images because my site just renders them from smushed featured images from posts? For instance a previously smushed featured image from this post is showing up as an offender in the speed test:

My latest speed tests are showing some pretty big discrepancies between Google and GTMetrix. Any idea why GTMetrix is so much worse? Both are still so much poorer then they’ve been just a few weeks ago. I just don’t understand what has changed?
