    Greetings,

    Our client’s site is having a peculiar issue that I’ve sourced to the Yoast SEO plugin. As the thread title suggests, we noticed that the <title> element on specific custom post type pages are being appended with the page slug. These custom post types are generated from the “Toolkit” plugin, and this issue is only affecting those of a specific taxonomy created within that same plugin.

    I confirmed that there is no custom code or plugin on the site that is causing this, either directly or not. I went through the Yoast SEO and Toolkit plugin settings and did not visually see anything amiss. For the Yoast SEO settings, I did try the “Force rewrite” option but this didn’t produce a different result.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello Jredfearnsd,

    Thanks for reaching out about your page title. Here’s what’s in the page source:

    <title>Common Advance Directives Options | MJHS Health System - advance-directives-options-available</title>

    So I assume advance-directives-options-available is the unwanted page slug you were referring to.

    Please take two screenshots:

    1. WordPress > Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > Content Types > your CPT
    2. The title field when you edit the specific CPT

    We look forward to hearing from you.

    @maybellyne ,

    Apologies about the delay. I was on holiday break. Yes, that’s the correct assumption about the unwanted page slug in the title element.

    I don’t see an option in this forum to upload a screenshot. Mind dictating how one can do this?

    Hello @jredfearnsd

    I see two custom post types – resources and resource-category. But it seems the URL you shared is a resource-category post type. Can you share a screenshot for the resource-category under content types?

    In the alternative, since you have an active premium subscription, please get in touch with our support team so they can take a closer look at your setup.

    @maybellyne ,

    I apologize about the confusion. The URL I shared is a “resource-subcategory” taxonomy type with a “hierarchical” association to the “resource” post type. The “resource category” post type is something else. As you see in the first screenshot, this “resource-subcategory” taxonomy type does not have a specific entry in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > Content Types.

    We do not possess access to the premium subscription which our client has. I will see what I can do on this but for the mean time let’s please continue to converse here.

    @jredfearnsd

    You can contact our support on behalf of your client who has a subscription registered with him. It will help us look into the issue more closely directly on your setup and confirm if anything conflicts with the title output.

    @suascat_wp ,

    In process of getting this sorted out. There’s an implication here that we may not be able to get assistance through this support forum. Is this the case?
