page slug has a -2 on the end

    On a development site, I renamed /investments/ to /investments-old/ and created a new page with slug /investments/ but WordPress keeps changing it to /investments-2/.

    If I load /investments/ it displays an image with part of its filename being ‘investments’.

    Help appreciated.

    First, try resetting your permalinks.

    If that doesn’t help, go into your media library and find that image. From the Attachment Details Page, click on “Edit More Details”. You’ll see a permalink setting under the title. It’s likely that the permalink is “investments”. If so, change it to something else, and you should be all set.
