    Hi,
if you look at this page from mobile:
    https://www.temporary-url.com/80487
You will see that the table gets out of the theme layout making the page scrollable horizontally. I contacted the theme author, who got back to me telling me to contact the plugin author…

Do you maybe know how to fix this?

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

This is a rather classical problem with responsiveness for tables on the web. You’ll need an approach to deal with showing tables on small screens. For some ideas, please see https://tablepress.org/extensions/responsive-tables/

On my previous theme (I changed wordpress theme a week ago)
when the table was too big it would just be cut. Now instead the whole page scrolls horizontally.

I dont want to use responsive table extension, can you tell me how to fix this? do I need to change wordpress theme?

    Hi,

this then means that your old theme simply used other CSS code here, to cut the overflowing content, instead of keeping it visible.
Unfortunately, I don’t know ways to change this.

Can you explain why you don’t want to use the TablePress Responsive Tables Extension? Is it because it’s labelled “Premium”? If so, keep in mind that you can use it for free, as paying is on a voluntary basis.

    It’s not because of that.
In fact I used that extension in the past, I even donated, I bought a few things from your amazon wishlist, but your extension broke my site, gave me plenty of indexing problems, headaches and costed me a few thousands dollars in damage. I prefer to die than to use that extension again.

So I am looking for some custom CSS I can add to the customization panel to simply make the table cut. I understand it will not be all visible. But I prefer that the table is cut. Now instead the page is scrollable in horizontal which is very bad.

    Hi,

I’m really sorry for your frustration, but these are pretty severe claims, and as we discussed in that other thread, I’m still convinced that these indexing issues where not caused by the Extension.

Regarding the cutting of that table: You’ll then actually have to make your theme cut any overflowing content. This would require CSS changes in the theme, but I don’t know what the best changes here are, as I don’t know your theme. I’m really sorry.

    Regards,
    Tobias
