Page Restrict Plugin – setting username and password for users

Does anyone know about Page Restrict? I have a page restricted by Page Restrict on my blog https://www.ilearnenglish.com – It asks for a username and password on the page called restricted page. – where is the username and password set up? how does someone get a username and password for this page and how do I authorise them. Obviously I cannot give everyone my username and password.

Sorry No. Everyone here is a volunteer and support is only provided on the forums. By replying to your own post you reduced the chances of getting replies as the topic would no longer be on the no-replies list.

I have not used this plugin, but having viewed the plugin page it appears that the username & password a visitor needs to use would be whatever they used when registering as a subscriber to for the site.

Check the ‘Anyone can register’ option in the Administration > Settings > General screen.

Create a link to show the user where to login to your site (e.g. yourdomain.com/wp-login.php) and they will be able to register there.

or you can put the meta widget in a sidebar which should also include a link to register.

this is really helpful, but I am still missing the key point. I have been in to dashboard/appearance/widgets/meta (I did not use Links as I am in bluehost not wordpress.com so there is no Links option on the toolbar). But even though I have clicked the down arrow, named the widget and pressed save, I still do not see where I enter actual info – the username and password which a user needs to log into my blog. where do I write mydomain.com/wp-login.php? is there a prior step I am missing?

I meant a simple html link entered into a post or text widget – or you could use a custom menu item.

If you have enabled subscriber registration and have added the meta widget, anyone visiting the site who is not currently logged in should see a register link & login in the sidebar.

If you are currently logged in & look at the sidebar you won’t see a register link or login link.
