Generally that means that the JavaScript file is not included. Please go through the options and also check the source code to verify that the sac.php file is included.

I checked and the sac.php file is there. What else could it be?

It’s hard to just “guess”, but you can use the demo to help troubleshoot:

The demo works. Another thing that isn’t working is when you go to the chat room it doesn’t create a guest_ name like it did on my local server. Could the two things be connected?

Yes, it sounds like its a JavaScript-related issue, as per my initial reply.

Gonna go ahead and close this thread. Feel free to follow-up with any new infos.

I’m getting the same issue, and I think it has something to do with adding the ‘Chat URL’ in the ‘Chat Options’.

Leaving this empty works fine. If it is filled with a URL to the chat page the chat doesn’t work. Clicking ‘Say It’ makes the page go to simple-ajax-chat-admin.php.

You can see for yourself that the “Chat URL” option works fine, it is enabled at the Chat Demo over at https://wp-mix.com/chat/

If you investigate the markup of that page and then look around at other pages, you will see that the Chat URL option is enabled, and also that the chat script is working great.
