Page parent breaks if parent is scheduled

My site is very date-sensitive. We have many pages that are scheduled to go live at a certain time. However, I cannot assign a page parent to a scheduled page if the parent page is scheduled or in draft mode. This makes it almost impossible to set up a page structure in advance. I have to continually go in and re-assign the parent pages of my subpages. Can we PLEASE fix this in the next release??
