  • Hi kennymc,

I’m not too familiar with Yoast, but this post suggests unchecking the options on the Yoast SEO plugin dashboard to set category permalinks.

It also suggests resaving your permalink structure (Settings > Permalinks > Save Changes), and if that doesn’t work, rebuilding your .htaccess file (you can find that on the permalinks settings page too.

    Thanks for you’re reply dbough.

I think my problem has something to do with redirecting, as I don’t know much about WordPress, I will watch a few youtube vids to try and correct things

I have disabled Yoast for the time being.
Resaved my Permalinks and no change.

Im now going through the post you sent.

    Hello,

Install a cache plugin. Will help.

What will happen is the old permalinks being contemporarily saved by the SEO plugin will be updated by the cache plugin.

    Hope that helps.

Do you recommend leaving the seo plugin activated or deactivated before installing a cache plugin?

Also can you recommend a cache plugin.

    Thanks

Pls keep it activated if you want to use it.

Ive had good experience with the following:

In my settings, 404 redirects I’m getting.
404 Redirected: There are 2621 captured 404 URLs that need to be processed.
    also:
301 Bulk Uploader requires the Simple 301 Redirects plugin to be installed and active in order to work.

Would any of these messages be causing me problems?

    Change Permalinks to default
