Page not found – PDF download

What a strange thing. Please clarify somethings.

I tried multiple uploads, different locations, permissions all without success.

How are you uploading the file? What “different locations” are you trying?
Are you using the Media Library to upload the file? Where are you getting the address from?

@kimwhite I originally uploaded using the add media button. I dropped my file and placed it. When it failed I noticed the upload folder was 2013/08 and I assumed that may have been the problem. Using FTP I also manually uploaded the file to 18/01. I later read that the upload folder is based on the original post date so 13/08 should not be a concern.

I then edited the file name to remove spaces for dashes.

I also tried the permissions on the file itself.

I feel quite confident that the file path is correct.

Other uploads I had tried were https://foresthilltennisclub.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/MC-Forest-Hill-Camp-Form-2018.pdf

You could go straight to the Media Library and upload it there (you will get a 2018 directory then). Then go to the page and link it (using the media library again). Upload it without the spaces etc.

I might think it’s the file but we would at least get some type of corrupt message. Permissions would give us an error too.

Sorry, I’m at a loss. The path you gave us simply have nothing there. Maybe infiamu has an idea.

@acbr, try to upload file in Media Library again. Your link should be like this

“https://foresthilltennisclub.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/MC-Forest-Hill-Camp-Form-2018.pdf”

So I still have no luck with the linked file coming from the site. If I link to the file hosted on Dropbox it works.

I use a plugin called embed any document plus. I use this to display excel files for scores. I tried deactivating this but that did not help.

Using this plugin I uploaded the PDF I want to display and it too fails to work if the file is hosted on the site. What could be causing this? They are there but its as if WordPress cannot access them and therefore they don’t exist.
