• Hi
I have one of the pages on my friends website that will no longer load.
The page was working OK previously and he says he has made no changes!!!
If I change the name of the permalink to something else then page loads OK.
Below is the link to the page how it should be
    https://www.acupuncture4infertility.org/lifestyle-advice/fertility-supplements

Can anyone tell me why page will no longer load with original permalink, and how I fix it.
I have emptied the trash to make sure there are no duplicate page names.

    Thanks
    Ian

  • you might be having too many redirects . create other page and copy all content there and delete this page and then rename that url to same it will remove redirects

Is there a way to remove some of the redirects rather than creating a new page and deleting old page?

Are you using a redirection plugin? What is in your site’s .htaccess file?

There is a plugin called redirection used for all the 301 redirects required. I have tried changing the URL monitoring to Don’t monitor as I read this on another post, but it still hasn’t helped.
If I change the permalink to ad a -xxx or anything at the end of -supplements, then the page loads, but if I try and use just the -supplements or -supplement then the page will not load.
Regarding the .htaccess file, I have not looked at this, but then don’t know what I should be looking for?

Do you know if deactivating the redirection plugin then re-activating it will keep the configured redirects, or would i need to manually ad all the redirects again?

Have you tried deactivating the plugin? In the meantime, your .htaccess file can be found in your root WordPress folder.

He has 16 redirects set up, so I am a little concerned if the plugin is deactivated then all those redirects will need to be re-added.
