For some reason, when I go to my WordPress account and click on “Pages”, the listings are no longer in alphabetical order. Is there a way to get the default display of the pages back to alphabetical order?

    Thanks,

    Ron

In the Pages list, hover your mouse over Title and click the triangle: https://d.pr/i/1kZWr/30h8UTRJ (screenshot)

James: Thank you for the suggestion, but I am already doing that each time I log into my WordPress site. However, up until a few weeks ago, the list was already showing alphabetically by default when I would log in. If there is a way to change it back to where it shows alphabetically at the start, it would save that extra step and the time. Thanks,

Hm, that’s very odd. There is no “default” necessarily, WordPress is just supposed to remember what you selected last.

Are you sure there isn’t anyone else with access to the site who may be changing that when they use the site?

Yes, I’m positive that I am the only one with access

Which order is it switching itself back to?

    date published

Are you sure you’re viewing the Pages section of the Dashboard, and not the Posts section? The Posts section does default to date published on every view.

I am definitely within the pages listings. After I click on the Titles triangle, it goes to alphabetical order. However, even if I navigate to something else during the session, such as fusion slider, and do some work there, and if I want to go to a page again, and I click on pages, the list comes up based on publish date, not alphabetical. It’s really annoying, du to the time it takes each time.

Well, I have to admit I’m a bit stumped on this. Let’s try ruling out some third-party elements.

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Sixteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    JMES:

Success!!!! I thank you for the advice.

I deactivated all plug-ins and activated them one-by-one.

    The Culprit:

    Post Types Order
    version 1.8.9.

I can’t remember exactly why I installed it, but for now, I’ll keep it deactivated, unless you have any further comments about this and the plug-in.

    Thanks Again
