Page List not showing on load

Hi – Im using the Plugin(static front page plugin) to load a”Home” page on loadup.
What I find is, my list of Pages is empty UNTIL I select a category or something to view then the Page list is populated.
(Urr – very new to WP and using Default 1.5 theme)
Any ideas? Thanks.
