Page Links Won't Update

  • Hello good WordPress people — I’m stumped, and need help in updating the page links in my site navigation.

    For years I have updated the page links through Tools > Page Links. Never had a problem. Now when I check boxes to update the links, nothing happens.

    FYI, I have downloaded the Link Manager plugin. Hosting is GoDaddy and theme is Atahualpa. I’ve cleared caches and tried multiple browsers, so that’s not the problem.

    Any ideas?

    what do you mean? are you trying to add a new page to the menu bar? or do you want a current page link to go somewhere else?

    Also, in a vanilla install of WP, there is no ‘Page’ under the ‘Tools’ menu so I have no idea what this is refering to.

    If you want to play with a custom menu you would go to dashboard->appearances-.menu

    Hi Juggledad, thanks for the reply. Let me explain what I’m doing.

    I’m adding new pages to the menu bar. The way I set this up initially was through Dashboard -> Tools -> Page Links. That brings up a page called Manage Page Links that includes a list of all pages I’ve created. I check the ones I’d like to include, and those appear in my menu bar.

    It may be that Dashboard -> Appearances -> Menus could work too, but I’ve never entered anything in this area. The menu bar has always updated just fine through Manage Page Links …until now.

    Manage Page Links is a plugin that hasn’t been updated in 7 years. it’s amazing that you have had it work this long.

    My suggestion iis to use the wordpress custom menus and dump the plugin.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I dumped Manage Page Links and am now using the Menus. Super easy. Kudos to you!
