Page Link

  • I would think this would be simple, and I admit I am a newbie to WordPress. My site can be found at quicktrainer.biz/index/. I have a Page called “Blog” that I want to have automatcially linked to my blog site quicktrainer.biz/qtiblog/. In other words, if someone clicks on the page called “Blog” it would automatically take them to our blog site.

    Is creating a Page the proper way to do this? How do I tell this Page what when you are clicked on to automatically go to my blog site?

  • I haven’t used this plugin, but it looks like it’ll do what you want it to do: https://urbangiraffe.com/plugins/redirection/

    What do you mean? You can link Blog in your header without creating a page like:

    Blog

    The ../ exits out of the index directory.

    I’m not sure if you knew this already but I don’t quite understand your questions!!

    @xdesi It seems to me that they wanted to make quicktrainer.biz/blog forward to quicktrainer.biz/qtiblog. (Which, if you try that link now, it appears it’s working.)

    @dressedinvalue I first tried the “redirection” plugin before ever posting to this forum. I could not get the desired result to work.

    Sorry if I did not explain my question adequately. Let me try again…

    quicktrainer.biz is going to be our new website (using wordPress).

    quicktrainer.biz/blog is our blog site.

    I have a page on the new website called “Blog”. Whenever anyone clicks on this page called “Blog”, instead of the click taking them to this actual page, I want a new window to open and for the end-user to be taken to our actual blog site.

    This is NOT currently working. The URL’s between the two sites are VERY similar and the look and feel between the two sites are very similar.

    Add this to your .htaccess file:

    redirect 301 /blog/ https://www.quicktrainer.biz/qtiblog/

    Where “/blog/” is the page you want to redirect, and “https://www.quicktrainer.biz/qtiblog” is the full URL of the actual blog.

    @dressedinvalue: I did try your suggestion, but could not get it to work at all. I DO really apprecaite your help!

    I found another plugin, “Page Links To” and it works perfect!
