I came across a plugin on this site called “Blogroll” and the description is “Creates a links page that lists all the links in a given link category”. This is exactly what I need, problem is it’s link is broken and I can’t find the plugin anywhere. Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Why would you need a plugin for that?
links.php is a possible template file in a theme.
Create it as a Page Template (see the Codex) and put the proper Links Manager template tag in it.
Then create a Page using that template – no content in it.
    You are done.

But if that sounds complicated, go here:

    and look for Links Page.

Ok, I’ll try it out, thanks!

I can’t figure out how to do this AT ALL. I have a links.php and I’ve got it all ready yet…I don’t understand how to create a page to tell it to go get the links.php.

I have looked thru as much of the support forums as I can and I just cannot understand how to do this. I’m sure there’s a simple solution but I’m a little tired now. Been working on this for 2 hours now. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

WP Admin > Write > Page (make a New Page)

    Page title: “My Links Page”
    Page content: nothing

Page Template Drop-Down Menu: set to “links.php” or Links Template

    Click Publish

    Hope this helps!

bless you!! I knew it was right in front of my face the whole time.

where is this> I dont see this anywhere
    Thanks

Amber, do you have a links.php created & uploaded in your root directory? You need that file uploaded there, then it will be in the drop down menu.

I forget if it’s called links.php or what exactly, but in the Default theme it’s included (I think it appears as “Links Template” in the drop-down menu where you can select a different template for a Page… this drop-down menu is in one of the partially-hidden choices on the right side of Write Page).

However other themes besides the Default, might not come with this template. Then you would have to create it. You could look into the Default theme to get ideas for how to create it.

    Thanks for the help
the siriux theme did not come with these so I followed your advise and made them
