    Hi,

My WordPress site pages that use BeaverBuilder have changed their format so that all the text and images are all stuck on the left side of the page.

This happened around 2 months ago, but I’ve only recently been able to get around to fixing it. I think at the time it was when I updated WordPress.

I’m using the latest version of WordPress (4.4.1) and using:
Beaver Builder Plugin (Lite Version) Version 1.6.4.4

I’ve disabled all plugins and changed my theme. The problem still persists so it isn’t a plugin/theme compatibility.

I’ve checked other support tickets and your documentation on the site but can’t see any solutions. The only coding changes I made was to my themes css file, but the site still worked fine back then.

    Two examples would be:

    https://lylak.co.uk/projects/
    https://lylak.co.uk/youtube/

When I create a default/new page then go to ‘Content blocks’ and add a new one, it also gets pushed to the left side.

I’ve also checked my servers errors logs to find any extra details:

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This appears to be working again after making a lot of changes to my permissions and editing files/folders.

    Hey Ring Many,

Glad you figured it out! BB requires read/write permissions to the /wp-content/uploads/bb-plugin/ directory. ?? Anyway, enjoy! ??

    Thanks for the reply,

Unfortunately it appears to be something else. For example, when setting all folder permissions to 755 and files to 644 then the website will break and mess up the format.

I needed to change the folders permission to 777 for a second which you should NEVER ever do, but then it worked. The format for pages on BB all goes to one side once permissions are set to 755.

This is most likely another issue with my website which I’m looking into. But the BB problem has been temporarily resolved.

    Hey Ring Many,

The cache folder should work if the permissions are set to 755 for the folder and the cache files. If the cache files are set to 644, Beaver Builder won’t be able to write to them. You shouldn’t ever have to set the folder to 777. Could the 644 permissions be the issue?

A friend of mine had a look into this for me. I believe the problem was that my FTP had the incorrect permissions given so that it only had read abilities.

My tmp folder was also specified in the wrong location due to a change I made a couple months ago.

I also needed to replace some of the files inside my plugins folder.

Everything is working correctly now, even with the file 644 and folder 755 permissions.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hey Ring Many,

Thanks for letting us know! Enjoy! ??

I am having the same problem on only one page in my website. At least it’s only one page so far. I set up two rows with four columns each, now it looks like I have one column down the left side in eight rows.

I am using beaver builder also. I am not using ftp though, I am editing directly on the page.

    Hey Evelyn,

Do you mind sharing the URL of the page in question so we can check? ??

    Hey guys,

I’m having a similar problem to Evelyn’s. Just a summary of what happened:

    1) WordPress was installed on a sub-folder in my root directory and used to develop the new website
    2) All plug-ins (Beaver Builder included) were installed in sub-folder directory
    3) Have made the necessary to point the domain name to the sub-folder so that when typing the
domain name, people can see the new website instead of the old
    4) Everything is fine except for the alignment in some of the pages e.g.
    https://choice.org.sg/?page_id=131. While https://choice.org.sg/?page_id=100 looks ok
    5) Permission for the wordpress sub-folder is 757 and index.php (in root folder) is 646

I believe it could be some minor changes for the alignment to be back to normal. Any help would be very much appreciated!

    Hey Choicecommunications,

    Thanks for posting!

It’s really weird since the builder doesn’t seem to be loading any CSS or JS files for that page. Can you try clearing the BB cache under Settings > Page Builder > Cache and see if that helps? Can you try creating a new page, launch the page builder, slap some modules in place, and see if you get the same issue? Lastly, what happens when you try launching the page builder on that page?

    Hi Ben,

I replied via email and just realise that it didn’t get posted here.

I went to Settings > Page Builder but could not see Cache anywhere as seen from the screenshots below:

    1) General Tab – https://www.choice.org.sg/forum/Screen%20Shot%202017-01-07%20at%207.48.54%20PM.png

This is what happens when I create a new page – https://www.choice.org.sg/forum/Screen%20Shot%202017-01-07%20at%207.52.48%20PM.png

This is what happens when I insert some modules –

    Hey there,

You’re actually looking at SO’s page builder settings. I’m not really sure if theirs is labeled Page Builder on the Settings menu as wellbut if it is, try visiting the other one. Our admin settings should look like the screenshot below. ??

    Hi Ben,

    Thanks for pointing it out.

As you can see from my screenshot – https://www.choice.org.sg/forum/Screen Shot 2017-01-25 at 10.34.06 PM.png – there are 2 page builders and the one which you showed me was showing an error message which says – Beaver Builder may not be functioning correctly as it does not have permission to write files to the WordPress uploads directory on your server. Please update the WordPress uploads directory permissions before continuing or contact your host for assistance.

I’ll google around and see what I can find. In any case, it would be appreciated if you could also guide me on how to resolve this issue. Will update again if I’m able to resolve it.

    Thanks Ben!
