Page exerpts in search returns

Hi:

Search returns include exerpts of posts but not pages. I am using Greenshift theme and it doesn’t include anything built-in for page exerpts. I haven’t found any plugins but sometimes it’s hard to get the wording right when searching. Is there a way to add exerpts to pages so that when someone does a search and get page titles back they include a sentence or two?
