page editor buttons

I have a question about the Page Editor. Previously, I used TinyMCE, which add a lot of buttons to the menu etc. that was good. I understand that TinyMCE was added to the core.

I created a new site, using the Clean Retina theme. https://stevelescure.net/ When I edit a page, only one row of edit buttons appears (starting with “b” ending with “close tag”). I changed the TinyMCI options, checked basically everything. Nothing. I installed WP-Edit. No change.

what am i missing here?

I want to change the fonts etc on a particular page (not the whole site). I know I could do that with CSS but was hoping to avoid all that.
