Hi, this seems to be a common problem in wordpress with seemly no clear solutions.
So, I’ve upgraded my WordPress and now my visual editor is blank. Nothing.
If i go to the text box and highlight there is something there, text surrounded by code.

What i’ve done to try to fix the issue so far,
Cleared my browser. In fact I’ve tried many different browsers on many different computers.

Created another account for the website in case it was a permissions problem.

    Deactivated the plugins.

    Switched themes.

I’ve have been at this for the last 4 hours now and I fear nothing will work.I am running a website for a small local charity without any formal training or support.

    1) Deactivate ALL plugins.
    2) Switch to 2014 theme.
    3) Manually empty browser cache.

Does the editor load properly now?

In your screenshot you have many plugins activated, some of them related to buttons in the editor tool bar.

Be sure to disable all plugins to test.

    Hi Samuel,
I’ve disabled all the plugins and I still have the same issues.

This is a javasript error in the editor… plain and simple. I’ve seen it a thousand times. It prevents the editor from loading properly. You can try diagnosing the error yourself.

If you truly disable ALL plugins; switch to the 2014 theme; and manually empty your browser cache… AND it is still not loading properly… then there is something deeper going on than your WP install… and you’ll most likely need to take it up with your host.
