Page doesn’t work until refreshed

  • Hi,

    I’m struggling with a strange problem, and I think it’s most likely session-related. The first time I load the page after a while it comes up with:

    Can’t select database. We were able to connect to the database server […] but not able to select the…database.

    As soon as I refresh the page, it works fine. It appears to be time-related as it doesn’t happen unless you leave the page for a while. I can’t figure out whether it’s a general thing (if nobody accesses it for x amount of time) or a user-specific thing.

    I’m running WP 1.5 without any custom cookie / session code that I know of. Chances are you’ll be able to see it for yourself if you go to my site at https://www.wandwaver.co.uk/blog.

    Anybody have any ideas? It’s driving me nuts ??

    Just for people with a similar problem, this turned out to be a plugin issue. The plugin needed external data which wasn’t there on the first attempt, but it then cached new information so the refresh worked.
